The Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development has issued a communique on the 10th of April 2021 for the extension of the Wage Assistance Scheme and the Self-Employed Assistance Scheme for the month of April 2021.
Tourism Sector
All operators of the tourism sector in Mauritius and Rodrigues will obtain financial assistance under the Wage Assistance Scheme and the Self-Employed Assistance Scheme for the month of April 2021, in full.
Other Sectors
Self-employed individuals and SMEs in Mauritius will obtain financial assistance under the Self-Employed Assistance Scheme and the Wage Assistance Scheme respectively for the month of April 2021, in full.
Under the Wage Assistance Scheme, SMEs will obtain financial assistance equivalent to one month basic salary up to a maximum of Rs 25,375 per employee for all employees drawing a monthly basic salary of up to Rs 50,375.
Under the Self-Employed Assistance Scheme, self-employed individuals will obtain financial assistance of Rs 5,287.
