The Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) has been implemented to facilitate the transition of youth from education to employment and to provide them with the necessary skills required by the different sectors of the economy.
One of the main objectives of the YEP is to assist employers in obtaining appropriately skilled employees.
The YEP offers a subsidy on the stipend paid to the youth during his or her first year of placement or training.
Employers have to register themselves with the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development & Training to avail to the YEP.
How the YEP works
The registered employer recruits the youth according to the job requirements.
The employer will get a refund of 50% of the monthly stipend of the youth subject to the table below:
